Milton doesn't fare well
Eric Milton's audition for the fifth starter's role didn't go nearly as well as James McDonald's. Milton was roughed up for six earned runs in 2 2/3rds innings pitched Thursday against the Rockies. Five of the seven hits he allowed were extra base hits, though it should be noted that two of the hits seemed to be affected by the wind. Either way it wasn't a great outing.
I know he's Torre's boy, but this guy needs to go to SD or something where he can work out his stuff.
It's only a matter of time before he's cut.
Eric Milton is best qualified to pitch in a homerun derby. He's a long ball throwing machine. He topped out in 2004 and 2005, serving up 43 and 40 in those years, respectively. Following are his career stats:

HOLY SCHNIKES!!! Those are slow-pitch beer league numbers, how is this guy even on a roster, well, anywhere? On a positive note, I bet most of us are confident any one of us could deliver at that level, or more, in the majors. ;)
