Sigh of relief?

Joe Torre hopes there’s no exhaling now that the Dodgers own the streak of home wins to start a season … Torre acknowledged it was nice to break the record and get it out of the way.
“Yes, only because it becomes a distraction and it gets to the point where you think this is all we’re shooting for,” Torre said. “You (might) tend to let down even though you don’t realize it.”
… Brent Leach made his first Major-League appearance a gutsy one. He saw on the bullpen TV the information about the streak before he got the call to warm up and was great. He retired the first two batters he faced in the ninth, walked Willie Harris and then struck out Christian Guzman.
… Russell Martin is finding a groove as he was 3 for 5 with an RBI.
All is seemingly well with the Dodgers.

That “sigh of relief” just became a punch in the gut:,0,6324894.story

Kudos to the Times for getting this scoop!

Yeah I was just going to post that too Harpo. The Times clobbered the beat writer-less competition on this one. Nothing about it here. I miss TJ already.

The coverage on here sucks with Tony Jackson got. No post on this regarding the Manny suspension? Way to stay on the ball guys. I’m a Kings fan but why the hell do the Kings have better blog coverage than the Dodgers? Nice call Daily News.
