Right-hander Jason Schmidt made his first rehab appearance of the season Tuesday night, starting for Inland Empire in a California League game.
Schmidt went five innings against Stockton, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits. He walked four and struck out six.
Schmidt, 36, last pitched in the big leagues on June 16, 2007.
Maybe there’s still hope for the oft-injured Schmidt to prove GM Ned Colletti right for signing him. What do you think?
