6/13: Dodgers at Rangers

It’s Randy Wolf and Scott Feldman facing off tonight in Texas. Joe Torre has been quoted recently lamenting the lack of offense the Dodgers have produced, and he switched up the lineup a bit, moving Matt ‘The Bison’ Kemp to ninth in the order and moving Rafael Furcal (second on the team in June OPS at .762) up to second. Juan Pierre, Orlando Hudson, Casey Blake, and Russell Martin – especially Martin – have struggled this month. The Dodgers are 5-5 in their last 10 contests.

Wolf will be making his first career start against the Rangers. He started the season off hot but has cooled back down to the norm in recent weeks, culminating in a six-runs-allowed outing on Sunday. He’ll be pitching on five days’ rest.

Feldman took his first loss of the season Monday, but has been masterful since joining the rotation in late April (2.67 ERA in 54 innings.) He’s of the breed of pitcher the Dodgers frequently struggle against, a pitch-to-contact guy that doesn’t strike out many, and when he’s at his best, doesn’t walk many either.

Oh, and Andruw Jones is in the Rangers’ lineup, batting third.
