Former Dodgers outfielder Milton Bradley has been charged of abusing his estranged wife and faces up to 13 years in jail if convicted, the Associated Press reported Friday.

According to the report, Bradley has been charged with 13 misdemeanor counts of assault with a deadly weapon, vandalism and dissuading a witness from making a report.

A Harbor City native and Long Beach Poly grad, Bradley played two of his 12 major league seasons for the Dodgers, in 2004 and 2005. The Dodgers suspended Bradley in September 2004 for and ordered him to undergo anger management sessions for throwing a plastic bottle into the stands at Dodger Stadium.

In the summer of 2005, Bradley’s wife alleged domestic abuse against her husband on multiple occasions, but did not file charges. Later that year, he was traded to the Oakland A’s for Andre Ethier. He was released by the Seattle Mariners early in the 2011 season and hasn’t played since.

In September 2011, Bradley was arrested in Encino on suspicion of felony battery (he swung a bat at his wife and missed, according to police).
