Actor Dean Norris said he’s been a Dodger fan since he came to Los Angeles from Indiana in 1988. He knows he picked a good year.
“I didn’t have a baseball team growing up,” he said.
Twenty-five years after they last won a World Series, the Dodgers are putting together perhaps their most impressive season since. Norris hasn’t attended a game this year before today, but he’s got a good excuse: He’s been filming two television series, CBS’s “Under the Dome” in North Carolina, and AMC’s “Breaking Bad” in New Mexico.
Norris said he did “some media stuff” that allowed him to attend a handful of Albuquerque Isotopes games this season. I asked him for a scouting report on Onelki Garcia. He laughed.
Now that he’s back in town, Norris is hoping the Dodgers can extend their season into October so he can get caught up on what he’s been missing, maybe even trade stories with fellow Indiana native Don Mattingly.
“I was so excited when they hired him as coach,” Norris said.
