SportsNet LA releases details about its initial night of programming.

The Dodgers announced the programming lineup for launch night of SportsNet LA, the team-owned network set to debut next Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The evening will begin with “Access SportsNet: Dodgers,” followed by the inaugural episode of “Backstage: Dodgers,” back-to-back “Connected With…” interview shows featuring Clayton Kershaw and Don Mattingly and a one-hour retrospective special about last year’s season.

Among the other “prominent Dodger personalities” that will be featured that night are co-owner Earvin “Magic” Johnson, broadcaster Vin Scully, and special advisor Tommy Lasorda.

SportsNet LA is still attempting to find carriers in addition to Time Warner. As of right now, only Time Warner subscribers will be able to tune in when the network goes live. A spokesperson for the network said that the channel number still hasn’t been announced.

Here are some more details, provided by the team, about SportsNet LA’s debut-night programs:


The premiere episode of “Access SportsNet: Dodgers,” SportsNet LA’s signature live daily studio show, will be live for 90 minutes starting at 7:00 p.m. and feature the network’s entire on-air team, including Vin Scully, Charley Steiner, Orel Hershiser, Nomar Garciaparra, Jerry Hairston Jr., Alanna Rizzo and John Hartung. Live guests will include Dodger owner Earvin “Magic” Johnson, Hall of Fame Manager Tommy Lasorda, Manager Don Mattingly and infielder Adrian Gonzalez and the show will kick off with a special introduction by Scully. It will be hosted live from the SportsNet LA studio in Los Angeles, with live guests and contributions from Camelback Ranch – Glendale, and give fans a sneak peek at all of SportsNet LA’s extensive Dodger programming and an introduction to the behind-the-scenes access and expert analysis that SportsNet LA will provide for fans every day, all season long.

“Backstage: Dodgers,” the weekly behind-the-scenes documentary series that will give fans true inside access to the team from the first day of Spring Training through the last pitch of the season, will follow at 8:30 p.m. “Backstage: Dodgers” cameras have been embedded with the 2014 Dodgers since day one, following Manager Don Mattingly and the rest of the team since they gathered for the first time at Camelback Ranch – Glendale. The debut episode will take fans to Clayton Kershaw’s home in Texas the day he found out he won the 2013 National League Cy Young Award and inside the Dodger clubhouse and the first few weeks of Spring Training. Starting March 6, new “Backstage: Dodgers” episodes will debut every Thursday and weekly episodes all season long will keep fans updated on of-the-moment Dodger news and happenings, following players, coaches, executives and Dodger legends inside the clubhouse, outside of the stadium and more.

Following “Backstage: Dodgers,” SportsNet LA will air back-to-back original episodes of the network’s signature interview series “Connected With…” At 9:00 p.m., “Connected With…Clayton Kershaw” will be hosted by Hershiser, as the legendary Dodger and National League Cy Young Award winner sits down for an exclusive one-on-one interview with Kershaw, who just won his second NL Cy Young Award. Next, Hartung will host “Connected With…Don Mattingly” and talk to the Dodger manager about his career, life and the upcoming season.
