San Diego Padres recall Jesse Hahn, who’s available out of the bullpen tonight.

SAN DIEGO >> Right-handed pitcher Jesse Hahn, whom the Padres recalled from Double-A San Antonio, is available out of the bullpen for Saturday and Sunday’s games against the Dodgers.

Hahn limited the Dodgers to three hits over six innings on July 11 at Dodger Stadium, a 6-3 Padres win. In 12 games with San Diego this season, all starts, Hahn posted a 2.96 ERA and a 7-3 record with 65 strikeouts in 70 innings.

The 25-year-old is on an innings limit this year. Between Double-A and the majors, he’s pitched 112 ⅓ innings this season, and the Padres will use him out of the bullpen to limit his workload.

Third baseman Chris Nelson was placed on paternity leave prior to the game, clearing a spot for Hahn on the Padres’ active roster.
