How San Diego Padres manager Bud Black dealt with every cameraman’s worst nightmare.

Funny story from today’s pregame interviews. No context, just enjoy:

A television reporter asked San Diego Padres manager Bud Black about the importance of his club’s rookie players getting a taste of the major leagues in September. It’s a bit of a BS question — the same thing happens every year, so Black is unlikely to reveal any earth-shattering information — but he BS’d really well for a good minute.

Then, every cameraman’s worst nightmare was realized: The camera wasn’t recording while Black was speaking.

The cameraman apologized profusely, then fired up his gear. The reporter asked her question again.

“It’s really important for them,” Black said.

The reporter giggled nervously.

Black stared stone-faced for another couple seconds.

The reporter looked really nervous. So did the cameraman.

Then Black broke the ice and BS’d again.
