Dodgers’ “Big Three” lined up to face Giants.

The Giants must face the Dodgers’ top three starters this weekend in San Francisco. Oh, and Hyun-Jin Ryu, Zack Greinke and Clayton Kershaw will all be pitching on an extra day’s rest.g

That’s about as good as Don Mattingly could have drawn it up.

Ryu (14-6, 3.16) will oppose left-hander Madison Bumgarner (17-9, 3.02) on Friday. Greinke (14-8, 2.73) will oppose right-hander Tim Hudson (9-10, 3.12) on Saturday. Kershaw (18-3, 1.67) will oppose righty Yusmeiro Petit (5-3, 3.62) on Sunday.

Recall that the last time the Dodgers played the Giants, in San Francisco from July 25-27, Mattingly lined up his “Big Three” to pitch each game of that series too. The Dodgers swept the three games by a combined score of 17-4.

Tim Lincecum, Jake Peavy and Ryan Vogelsong started those games for the Giants. Perhaps not coincidentally, the Dodgers won’t face any of those pitchers this time around.

All three games will be televised on SportsNet LA; Friday’s game is additionally on MLB Network but will be blacked out for non-Time Warner subscribers in SportsNet LA markets.
