Dodgers have a game plan for San Antonio trip.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Spring training games in Texas?

Count on it. Twice.

Dodgers bench coach Tim Wallach will manage a split-squad roster against the Texas Rangers in San Antonio this Friday and Saturday. Don Mattingly will stay behind and manage a pair of away games here in Arizona, Friday against the A’s and Saturday against the Rockies.

The Dodgers players, coaches, and staff on the travel roster will fly out tonight.

Left-hander Erik Bedard starts for the Dodgers Friday against Texas right-hander Anthony Bass. Right-hander Zack Greinke starts Saturday against right-hander Anthony Ranaudo.

Thursday morning, Mattingly offered a few more details about the Dodgers’ plan for the two games.

Greinke will be allowed to bat for himself Saturday. The Dodgers will use Yasmani Grandal as the designated hitter Friday. There are three catchers on the Dodgers’ travel roster: Austin Barnes and/or Shawn Zarraga will catch Bedard on Friday, while Grandal will catch Greinke on Saturday.

There is no local TV or radio for either game. I’m told some clips from the trip will air on a future episode of Backstage: Dodgers. The Rangers will have a crew from Fox Sports Southwest there, and that telecast is available to stream live via MLB.tv.

Here are the travel rosters for both teams (thanks to Evan Grant on Twitter for the Rangers tip). As you can see, the Rangers are bringing a larger, more anonymous group:
