GLENDALE, Ariz. — Brandon McCarthy was listed as the Dodgers’ probable starter for this game, but he’ll throw a minor-league game instead. Chris Anderson will come up from the minor-league side to start against the Diamondbacks.
Don Mattingly makes no secret that he’ll hide a player from a divisional opponent when he can. The Dodgers and D-Backs are scheduled to play 19 games against each other this season, all in North America.
