Joel Peralta said his right arm felt “a little bit better” after receiving treatment and playing catch Saturday, but would not rule out a trip to the disabled list.

“There’s no pain, it’s not sore, it’s just weak,” he said of the arm.

The Dodgers need to make room on the 25-man roster for Scott Baker and Peralta basically volunteered his spot after Saturday’s game.

“They’re going to need a spot for him, maybe’s it’s going to be me. If that’s the case, I’d rather do it that way than go out and hurt the team,” he said.

Peralta has pitched only once in the last seven days, Thursday in San Francisco. In that game, each of his pitches averaged about 4 mph slower on the radar gun compared to his previous outing. He walked two of the three batters he faced; the third hit a line drive up the middle of the diamond that Howie Kendrick snagged with a diving catch.

Peralta believes his dead arm stemmed from a nerve irritation in his neck that he developed while sleeping in an awkward position the night of April 14. He said he’s never had such an injury before.
