Yasiel Puig will began rehab assignment tomorrow with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga.

Yasiel Puig is no stranger to Rancho Cucamonga. The Dodgers right fielder played 14 games there at the end of the 2012 season, his first in the United States. Tomorrow, Puig will return to the Dodgers’ Single-A affiliate as the Quakes’ designated hitter.

“He ran (the bases) today and he ran hard,” Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said of Puig. “As long as he doesn’t come in tomorrow stiff and tight he’s going to DH tomorrow.”

Puig was placed on the 15-day disabled list April 25 with a strained left hamstring.

Rancho is scheduled to host Visalia at 7 p.m. tomorrow.
