Kenley Jansen slated to complete rehab assignment Wednesday.

Kenley Jansen fielded ground balls off the mound at Dodger Stadium Tuesday for the first time in his rehab from left foot surgery. The right-hander only spent a few minutes on the field, but said he felt fine afterward.

Jansen is on track to start for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday, a home game against the Bakersfield Blaze. He said he’ll throw one inning. That will be the last of his six rehab games if all goes according to plan.

“It’s my last outing,” Jansen said, “so I have to take it like a shutdown inning.”

The Dodgers typically like to give players an extra day before they return, so Jansen could be activated from the 15-day disabled list as early as Friday.
