As Brett Anderson awaits MRI results, Dodgers aren’t bracing for the worst.

ATLANTA — Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said Wednesday that pitcher Brett Anderson‘s left ankle improved from Tuesday night and might not need to go on the disabled list:

Mattingly later added that Anderson won’t take his next turn in the rotation Sunday in New York if he can’t throw his usual bullpen session in two days.

“I feel like he’s an outside shot” for Sunday, Mattingly said.
