Dodgers scratch Alex Guerrero from Friday lineup with back stiffness.

NEW YORK — Alex Guerrero was scratched from the Dodgers’ lineup for Friday’s game against the New York Mets because of back stiffness. Kiké Hernandez will start in left field instead and bat sixth. Right fielder Yasiel Puig, originally penciled in to hit sixth, is batting fifth instead.

Guerrero hadn’t started since July 10 but got the nod today because left-hander Jon Niese is starting for the Mets.
