Yimi Garcia optioned to Triple-A to make room for Mat Latos.

The Dodgers optioned Yimi Garcia to Triple-A Oklahoma City to make room on the 25-man roster for today’s starter, Mat Latos.

The move had been expected for a few days. The Dodgers had an eight-man bullpen and a 72-hour window to add Latos to their 25-man roster from the time he was acquired in a trade with the Miami Marlins on Thursday.

Garcia leads the Dodgers in appearances this season with 41, but only one in his most recent big league stint. He was last optioned to Triple-A on July 7.
