Dodgers pitcher Juan Nicasio talked about his unusual left abdominal strain after Friday’s game, a 5-3 win over the Cincinnati Reds. Evidently he doesn’t feel anything during long toss, only when he gets on a mound and throws a fastball.
Though the injury isn’t severe, manager Don Mattingly defended the decision to DL Nicasio:
Nicasio’s DL stint is retroactive to Aug. 10, so he’ll be eligible to return during the Dodgers’ game Aug. 26 in Cincinnati.
