Dodgers pitcher Zack Greinke and first baseman Adrian Gonzalez, who won Gold Glove Awards at their positions last season, are finalists again this year.

Greinke, Jake Arrieta of the Chicago Cubs and Gerrit Cole of the Pittsburgh Pirates are the three finalists among NL pitchers. Gonzalez, Brandon Belt and Paul Goldschmidt are the finalists among NL first basemen.

The SABR defensive index (SDI), which accounts for 25 percent of the Gold Glove Award voting, rates both Gonzalez and Greinke favorably. Through Sept. 13, Greinke’s 5.4 SDI led all National League pitchers, while Gonzalez’s 8.3 was third among National League first baseman. Only Belt (11.1) and Goldschmidt (9.4) ranked higher.

The final SDI statistics will be released Nov. 10, the day of the Gold Glove Awards announcement.

Gonzalez also won Gold Glove Awards in 2008, 2009 and 2011.
