Former assistant hitting coach John Valentin among Dodgers’ 2016 minor league coaches.

John Valentin DodgersJohn Valentin, the Dodgers’ assistant hitting coach the last two seasons under Mark McGwire, will be the hitting coach at Single-A Great Lakes in 2016.

The Dodgers announced most of their minor league coaching staffs Thursday; their minor league managers were announced in December. Farm director Gabe Kapler made a point of appointing at least one Spanish-speaking coach at every level last year and it appears that will continue, though the team’s two short season Rookie-ball affiliates have only announced partial staffs so far.
