GLENDALE, Ariz. — Howie Kendrick said his strained left calf muscle felt better one day after he was scratched from the Dodgers’ lineup Thursday in Goodyear.
“It’s going to be a three or four-day deal,” Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said, “but I’m confident we’ll get him some at-bats before we break.”
Kendrick was held out of baseball activity Friday as a precaution.
Though it’s a new injury for Kendrick, the veteran second baseman said he’s dealt with pain in his left Achilles in past years. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that Kendrick suffered this injury running through the first-base bag in his final plate appearance Tuesday against the Kansas City Royals.
