SAN DIEGO >> Kenta Maeda and the 2016 Dodgers are making this look easier than it is. Maeda hit a solo home run (video), and so did Yasiel Puig (video), in a 7-0 win over the Padres that gave birth to some rather impressive firsts. The box score is here.

Maeda was anything but boastful in his postgame comments.

Whether or not you believe Chase Utley‘s slide into home plate Monday was dirty, this much is true: It’s a play third base coach Chris Woodward hopes more of his runners will emulate.
