Carl Crawford will return to the Dodgers before Scott Van Slyke.

In the latest episode of As The Injured Dodger Left Fielder Turns…

Carl Crawford is set to leave the team for a few days on a rehab assignment with Triple-A Oklahoma City. Crawford has been doing the full slate of baseball activities for several days and will rejoin the team Sunday in Denver. That’s the earliest he can be activated.

Like Crawford, Scott Van Slyke is nursing a lower back injury. He’s eligible to be activated Monday, but manager Dave Roberts said that won’t happen.

Van Slyke “isn’t doing any baseball activities,” Roberts said. “Doing core work. He feels considerably better. I would assume in the next couple days we’re going to get him back moving around.”

Van Slyke will remain in Los Angeles rather than travel to Atlanta and Denver this week.

Crawford had 3 hits in 11 at-bats to begin the season, a .273 average. Van Slyke was 1-for-9 with a double.
