Hyun-Jin Ryu, Brandon McCarthy throw bullpen sessions.

Hyun-Jin Ryu and Brandon McCarthy threw bullpen sessions Tuesday, continuing their rehab process.

Ryu is again throwing a bullpen session every fifth day, manager Dave Roberts said. Ryu suffered a brief setback in his shoulder labrum rehab earlier this month when he suffered a groin injury.

According to Roberts, Ryu threw all his pitches (fastball, curveball, changeup) in a 30-pitch bullpen session and “repeated his mechanics, the velocity was good, and that was encouraging today.”

McCarthy threw for about 20 minutes at Dodger Stadium. The right-hander underwent Tommy John surgery almost one year ago, on April 30, 2015.
