Yasiel Puig homered in his first rehab game with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Monday, finishing 1 for 2 with a walk and a groundout. Puig also played five innings in right field before being removed for a defensive replacement, as planned.

Puig’s opposite-field home run at LoanMart Field against right-hander Dean Deetz was his first hit at any level since May 28. His last home run was May 20, a Dodgers loss in San Diego.

The Dodgers placed Puig on the disabled list retroactive June 3 with a strained left hamstring. He’s expected to be in the Rancho Cucamonga lineup again tomorrow.
