Pitcher Bailey Ober, the Dodgers’ 23rd-round draft pick, will return to the College of Charleston for his redshirt junior season.

Ober, a 2016 All-CAA second team selection, underwent Tommy John surgery in 2015 and returned to lead the CofC pitching staff with 96 strikeouts in 97 innings in 2016. The Charlotte, N.C., native is 17-7 with a 2.47 ERA in his career at College of Charleston. The Dodgers selected him with the 701st overall pick in the 23rd round.
“I am thankful to the Dodgers organization for selecting me,” Ober said. “However, I have two years of eligibility left and want to help lead the Cougars to Omaha and hopefully improve my position in the draft.”
The Dodgers are believed to have come to an agreement with 22 of their 42 draft picks.
