Jordan Sheffield, the 36th overall pick in the draft, signs with the Dodgers. Update.

Only one of the Dodgers’ first 13 draft picks had yet to sign a contract as of Friday. That loose end appears to be tied up after Vanderbilt pitcher Jordan Sheffield, the Dodgers’ compensation round pick (36th overall) posted this photo to his Instagram account Saturday:

Sheffield had two years of college eligibility remaining after he posted an 8-6 record and a 3.01 earned-run average this season for Vanderbilt.

The recommended slot bonus for the 36th overall pick was $1.791 million.

Update (7:52 p.m.): Jim Callis of MLB.com reports that Sheffield signed for a tad above slot:

Sheffield is the nephew of former Dodgers outfielder Gary Sheffield and the brother of Justus Sheffield, a pitcher in the Cleveland Indians’ organization.

The team is either known or reported to have signed 27 of its 42 draft picks, including all of the top 13.
