Rob Segedin’s wife is due to give birth tonight or tomorrow morning.

Rob Segedin could have a long day ahead of him — but not as long as his wife Robin, who is due to give birth to the couple’s first child either tonight or early tomorrow morning in the Los Angeles area.

Rob is batting seventh and playing right field for the Dodgers tonight. He won’t be checking his phone constantly for updates — he said he gave the hospital the phone number of a Dodgers trainer.

Segedin hit his first career home run Monday in Cincinnati, then flew back to be with his wife:
