Game 158: The Dodgers’ hunt for home-field advantage might have left the yard.

Hunter Renfroe might be the only person to leave San Diego with home-field advantage after the Padres’ star had another big night in a 6-5 Dodgers loss. The box score is here.

Charlie Culberson‘s home run Sunday linked him with Vin Scully forever, writes columnist Mark Whicker.

Two postscripts:

1. Ross Stripling threw from the stretch with the bases empty today. He said he didn’t warm up out of the windup in the bullpen before coming in. The right-hander gave up two hits in three innings (one was a double that led to the winning run) and said he might just roll with it now that he’s reliving full-time.

2. Josh Reddick famously wore a “don’t bunt” T-shirt recently while visiting with Vin Scully. So why did he bunt in the ninth inning? “They’re giving you a free hit with the shift,” he said. The Padres had abandoned third base with the left-handed hitting Reddick at the plate.
