Travelin' man

As he packed his equipment bag for today's trip to Jupiter this morning, Luis Gonzalez smiled, raised his hand and said, "My second bus trip in eight years." Manager Grady Little, who happened to be walking by, smiled back and said, "You can stay here and go tomorrow if you want." Gonzo, who wanted no part of tomorrow's 2 1/2-hour trip to Fort Lauderdale, politely declined. Gonzalez spent the past eight springs in Tucson, Ariz., with the Diamondbacks, where veteran players normally drove their own cars even for those trips up I-10 to the Phoenix area. ... Furcal felt better this morning, and the swelling was down in his left ankle. But while he didn't say this, don't count on him for opening day. He's still on crutches for now because he doesn't want to favor his right leg, where he had knee surgery 14 months ago.
