Different lineup, same result

Rafael Furcal extended his hitting streak to nine games with a gift single in the first inning when a ground ball got stuck in Brewers 2B Rickie Weeks' glove. Furcal also walked in the third inning. Other than that, the Dodgers look like the same team that sputtered all weekend. This team has NO OFFENSE. Meanwhlie, Tomko is getting knocked around. He has given up two BOMBS in four innings to Prince Fielder and Johnny Estrada. Brewers 3, Dodgers 0, top 4

Tony, what do you think will happen first..

1. Kemp/Loney called up

2. Kemp/Loney traded for a bat

3. Dodgers miss the playoffs and resign Gonzo?

when does Eddie Murray get the boot? Didn't I see in the 5th inning Gonzalez and Kent take a total of like 3 pitches? Nomar didn't take too many either.

yeah ray i was thinking that. Did you also notice when he left Cleveland they got better?

wow-Billz is getting rocked!! OK, let's re-group and come back tomorrow night, after a closed door meeting after tonight's game....they need something....something!!!

Bills should have started that inning. Things would have probably been a lot different.

Pierre is beyond pathetic right now.

Well, the offense showed some signs of life in the later innings at least, but again, after the game was out of reach. This is just a bad stretch right now that could just easily go the other way. BUT what bothers me is how boring they are right now. It's boring to watch Tomko pitch. It's boring to watch their offense. They showed a little power tonight at least, but they don't have any Cecil Fielders and other young guys who can launch it with any consistency right now. Zzzz. In all fairness, it's a tough stretch of good teams with good pitchers right now but they have to show they're playoff caliber and right now they're not that, nor exciting. And yeah, Pierre's consistently this abyss in the line-up - no matter where he hits.

I was at the game tonight, and let me tell you, when the laid back Dodger stadium crowd starts harping on how bad the offense is, it's a real problem. Tomko was getting booed early and often as well. Poor Bills not only got shelled but almost got his head taken off by a liner...rough night.

Despite this...I DO think grittle should stick with this lineup for at least a couple days...there were signs of life. Gonzo with the meaningless Shawn Green-esque homer aside.
