Marlins 6, Dodgers 5
Dodgers got ONE man on base after the fell behind 5-4 in the fifth, and that was when Aaron Boone threw away the ball after making a diving stop on a smash by Ethier. Ethier eventually scored the tying run on a wild pitch by Renyel Pinto. But Jonathan Broxton retired just one of four batters in the bottom of the ninth, and Miguel Cabrera got him with a bloop single to center that scored Eric Reed from second. Dodgers fall to 19-14 and stay one ahead of the Pods, but the Giants could move within a half-game if they beat the Mets later tonight.

Mangerial error in the fifth also. If you're going to lift Hendrickson for Tsao anyway, just pitch to Olivo. Don't give him an IBB and let Borchard hit lefty, where he is a significantly better hitter.
Saw a lot of chatter about whether or not to pitch to Cabrera in the ninth; would have been an incredibly gutsy move to IBB him to push the winning run to third with only one out. Plus, Josh Willingham is a pretty good hitter.

Grady said he considered that, but didn't want to put a pitcher as young as Broxton in a position where the winning run was on 3b with less than two outs.
