Tony Jackson is in his fourth season covering the Dodgers for the Daily News, his eighth season as a full-time Major League Baseball beat writer and his 13th season covering MLB on regular basis. He is a native of Springdale, Ark., and a graduate of the University of Arkansas, although he refuses to root for the Razorbacks again until Frank Broyles is finally out of there. Tony is single and has a daughter who lives in Colorado. His hobbies include working out, reading and taking winter vacations with his daughter to non-MLB cities, usually in Mexico or the Caribbean. And he LIVES to blog.

Nomas still being in the line up and hitting in front of two of our hottest hitters is a complete joke. Grady Little's horrible personnel decisions of the last year from Tomko into the rotation to batting Nomas 3rd for over half a season. And Batting Pierre 2nd when he was playing like a single A player or not going to james Loney soon have probably cost use more games then any manager in the league this year.

LaRoche now has 9 homers in July.

Grady is doing a great job.
Nomar went deep today.
Tomko is turning his season around.
Pierre is a sparkplug.
And Loney is still a kid. Great potential and great future, but batting where he should be with the pressure off of him.
That makes you 0 for 5 Great Arcade Fire. You burned yourself out!

Oh well, Stults pitched better than we could have even asked for, but all for naught. Hopefully Saito can be ready to go for the next game but even if he is the 'pen needs help and the starters need to go deeper this week.
Tony, how long (like, how many minutes from now) before Hernandez is DFA'd? Can the Dodgers bring up Hull or Meloan and cut to the chase here?

OH NO! NOMAR WENT DEEP!!! Our season is SAVED. Forget the fact he's been horrible since last years all-star game. Also lets not forget him on pace for a carrer worst year not only for him but while was playing first he was on pace for one of the worst seasons for any dodgers first basemen in history and im sure its the same over at first.
Pierre still can't get on base without getting a hit and lets face it he's not going to hit for a high average soooo he still won't get on base at an acceptable clip.
Bombko has had a couple of ok starts but he's still Bombko. He was horrible at up until that first start in san fran and him being in the rotation a head of Bills stunted Bills maturation as a starting pitcher.
James Loney is probably the best hitter on the team. Who cares how old he is. He should be batting 3rd with Russ second but Pierre's contract wont allow that.
When is Meloan coming up? It's long overdue. Im sure Roberto Hernandez is a good guy but we can't have him coming in and giving up a run every outing.
