Astros 4, Dodgers 1

Refer to my last few postgame posts, because nothing has changed -- other than the fact the Dodgers are now 2 for their last 46 with runners in scoring position. The boys fall to 60-58 and 6 1/2 back in the NL West. Oh, and Jeff Kent dusted off that free-cookie reference that he also used last year to describe the media. As in, ``This game is easy when you write about it. It's really easy to deal with the pressure and manufacture runs when you're up in the sky box eating free cookies.'' That line just gets funnier and funnier every time he uses it. The fact he is now 0 for 23 makes it even funnier.

haha, enjoy those cookies!

Regardless of their skids, he's kinda right...It's easy for the writers and the fans to judge from the stands, with a dodger dog in one hand and 12.00 bomber in the other.

The one positive note last night, was the lineup was proper. Meaning, furcal , pierre being split up, providing us speed throughout the lineup.

6.5 back of the diamondbacks is like a mustang being 1/2 mile being a ford escort...In the end it just isn't going to matter.

Does anyone seem to have less fun playing baseball than Jeff Kent? The media has a job to do just like Kent does. Seems like your getting your job done Tony, unlike Mr. 0-for-23. I can only imagine what life would be like for a media member who wrote 23 straight columns that were turned down by an editor...would be looking for another job.

Make sure you bring a cookie with you into the dugout after tonight's game before you do interviews.

Tony: So Jeff, what do you think will get you and the dodgers to score some runs?

Kent: This game is easy when you write about it. It's really easy to deal with the pressure and manufacture runs when you're up in the sky box eating free cookies.

Tony: It gets kind of hard to write the same thing about the team 5 games out of the last 7 and keep it entertaining, but the cookies do seem to make it a little easier. Would you like one of the free press box cookies, Jeff? Think it will help put some runs up on the board?

Kent: Yeah, Tony, I'd like the cookie.

::Jeff Kent takes the cookie and crumbles it over Tony Jackson's head::

Kent: You got any more of those press box cookies, Tony? Or how about a slice of toast that bears my likeness...

::Tony runs away::

Garrett, that was OUTSTANDING. I laughed out loud reading it, while the people sitting around me up here in the press box stopped their cookie-eating to ask me what I was laughing about. You only got one thing wrong: the next time Jeff Kent addresses me by name will be the first.

glad you liked that, Tony. I may not pick up on internet sarcasm well but I come up with a decent joke once in a while hehe.
