Today's lineup -- Kent out for some reason
Not sure why, but I'll find out when I get downstairs. Probably because he is 2 for 13 against Braden Looper. Loney still third, Pierre still seventh.
SS Furcal
C Martin
1B Loney
LF Gonzo
3B Nomar
RF Ethier
CF Pierre
2B Martinez
RH Lowe
So late last night (early this morning, actually), I was in the Key West Cafe at the Union Station mall with my mom, my brother and my brother's girlfriend, and there was eclectic mix of songs emanating loudly from the juke box. Seated alone at a table in the corner was a slightly built African-American man who bore a striking resemblance to the late Arthur Ashe, and he was drinking beer and smoking cigarettes, and he was LOUDLY singing along with every one of these songs, no matter what genre of music each one happened to fall into. He even sang along to Walk the Line, by Johnny Cash, at the end of which he bellowed out, ``Yeeeeeee-hawwwww!!!'' But the piece de resistance was when he sang along with Shania Twain's Man! I Feel Like a Woman. And every time it would come to the title line, he would shout as loudly as he could, "I FEEL LIKE A WOMAN'' The things you see in St. Louis in the wee hours of a Friday night/Saturday morning.

If Russell Martin is in the lineup yet again tomorrow, Tony, I fully expect you to kick Grady Little in the balls for me. If not, we are no longer friends.

Nice to see our clean up hitter has been hitting under .230 since the break.
It's always nice having our players that don't produce bat in key positions in the lineup. Im sure Grady loves that.

Wait, I gave Gonzo a little too much credit since the break. He's hitting under .215. He's batting a cool .213 since the break.

Grady says Martin will probably be out tomorrow

Is it me, or have the Dodgers done the exact same thing with Derek Lowe that they did with Jason Schmidt and Randy Wolf?

That guy in the restaurant sounds like a scene in a movie... So americana ! BTW, Tony what do you think about the boys signing Mike Myers who was "DFA" by the Yankees a few days ago to replace Roberto ? He eats innings like his former teammate Scott Proctor.... And is another lefty.... Finally, is there anything I can do so I don't have to keep registering to post on this site each time I post... Still trying not to get too blue over the blue. Thanks Tony !

TD, I don't think they'll sign Mike Myers, but they did just acquire Chad Moeller from the Reds and assign him to Vegas. He'll undoubtedly be up in Sept. as a third catcher. And no, unfortunately, therer isn't any way to avoid logging in every time. Even I have to do it.

Thanks Tony. Getting real bleak for the boys... Glad to see Delwyn Young getting some playing time as well as Russ Martin getting a more than deserved rest. Even Superman needs some time off now and then.... What a freefall this has been... Too reminiscent of last seasons post all star collapse... With the exception of a dugout altercation ... yet. I simply cannot believe that we are looking at a September with '08 being the focus and not much hope for the postseason..... As a season ticket holder, I still plan on supporting the boys no matter what. Will be at 2 of the 4 against the Astros... It's gotta get better sometime... Right ?
