Tony Jackson is in his fourth season covering the Dodgers for the Daily News, his eighth season as a full-time Major League Baseball beat writer and his 13th season covering MLB on regular basis. He is a native of Springdale, Ark., and a graduate of the University of Arkansas, although he refuses to root for the Razorbacks again until Frank Broyles is finally out of there. Tony is single and has a daughter who lives in Colorado. His hobbies include working out, reading and taking winter vacations with his daughter to non-MLB cities, usually in Mexico or the Caribbean. And he LIVES to blog.

Great news, thanks. I expect Andy to get plenty of time at 3B and LF in 2008.

Tony,
Did you see the rumor about Mark Sweeney supposedly going somewhere, and possibly San Diego? Shouldn't the Dodgers be making an effort to get a left-handed pinch-hitter like him?

I'm blacked out once again on the MLB Extra Innings package for no apparent reason. Something to do with KCAL I suppose, but it's extremely lame. They really outta call it something other than Extra Innings. Maybe something like "extra if we feel like it innings."
Lame.

That's why I subscribe to both MLB Extra Innings and MLB.TV. For the most part the only games I miss are Saturday day games when everything is blacked out due to Fox (I live in NY and don't get the West Coast Fox game).
By the way, the difference between the DBacks and the Dodgers is the fact that Arizona plays there younger guys everyday. The Dodgers need to make the same commitment to their younger players. It's the only way they'll get the experience that Ned and Grady value so much. But then again, what do I know?
