Stop the presses again: Dodgers have a big inning
They scored four in the seventh, a rally that started with a leadoff walk to Furcal, including what should have been a bunt single by Pierre that was ruled a sacrifice and an error, also included an RBI single by Matt Kemp and ended on a two-run double that rolled to the 400-foot sign in right-center by James Loney. ... Billingsley still in there, getting close to 100 pitches but working on a four-hit shutout. This is one of his better starts in the majors. ... Dodgers 5, Padres 0, end 7. Best bunt of the year for Pierre. Woo-hoo!
Bills looks great, and while I don't want to jinx it, this is a season-saving game...for the moment.

Hey, Tony
I have some unreal numbers for you...
This season Chad Billingsley against the Padres:
19 2/3 innings 3 runs (2 earned) 29 K's and only 4 walks. If we hold on he'll be 3-0 against S.D.

Whoops, I DID jinx it. Smack me for thinking Grady would go to Broxton to start the eighth.
What a dweeb.

On second thought, who needs Lance Carter and Danys Baez when you have Scott Proctor and Joe Beimel?

Not learning his lesson, Grady has Roberto Hernandez warming up for the ninth. Unbelievable.
It may not be a save situation in the literal sense of the word, but it is in the practical sense.
