Getaway day
Internet went down in the press box last night, so I never posted after the game, but the Dodgers lost to the Royals 10-9 after mounting a ninth-inning comeback. ... Team is headed back to Los Angeles after the game and will get a much-needed off day tomorrow before playing the Angels in Anaheim on Thursday night. ... Dodgers will close out this part of spring training with a perfect day in the desert, just a gorgeous morning. Brewers complex is in kind of a bad neighborhood, but the complex itself is beautiful, and there is a great view of the mountains beyond center field. This game is NOT a sellout. I checked last night, and they were still about 3,000 short. But you can already tell the Dodgers are going to be HUGE draw down here. This move in long overdue.

No mention of Andre's opposite field dinger? No mention of Juan and Torre's 14 minute discussion in the OF? Not one word?

Seriously, go away. Your act isn't funny; it's just ignorant.
And stop ignoring the FACT that Andre Ethier is DESTROYING your boy Juan Pierre this spring.

Mikey is also known as I,Skeptic. Mikey wants you to believe he hates Ethier, but in reality Mikey has a man crush on Andre and is obsessed with him. Yes, it's true, Mikey types on the computer in his parents basement, dressed up in his pink tootoo praying that Andre will love him, the way he loves Andre.

I posted the following in the previous thread:
"It's only spring training, and stats this time of year can be deceiving. But Ethier has nearly two solid regular seasons behind him, so the following combined with a solid track record is a stong argument for him to [be] the starting leftfielder to open the season.

I have suspected for a while that Ethier had serious power potential, and so far I like what I see. Last year he spent the winter rehabbing his shoulder, and probably never had an opportunity to focus on simply getting stronger. That wasn't the case this past winter. Combine that with another year of maturity, and Ethier is probably a lot stronger than he' been.
In previous years, when Andre hit balls to the opposite field they often died on the warning track. That doesn't appear to be the case this year, as demonstrated by last nights homer, which flew out in leftfield. Yes, the game was played in Arizona where the air is light, but I'm impressed nevertheless. He clearly appears to be a stronger hitter than he's been in the past."
In the same thread, Dave Regan posted the following:
"Guys, Mikey is a troll....don't feed 'em."
That echoes sentiments I previously posted, and which were also posted by someone else prior to that.
Seems like some of us are not heeding the advice, and a satiated troll keeps coming back. These things take time, and visits from that demented creature are likely to continue as long as it gets the attention it craves. Maybe it will never go away, but that's not so bad, as long as we don't contribute to its needs.
Remember, it's not attacking you personally, for, in fact, we're all anonymous on this blog. SELF DISCIPLINE is all we need.
There is no problem with continuing the Ethier/Pierre debate (as I did at the top of this post) as long as we keep it civil, and understand that we're not always going to agree. If we agreed on everything this blog would lose a lot of its appeal.

So much for Juan's "clubhouse guy" rep, that was a load of crap. I guess he's a clubhouse guy as long as he gets his way.

Thanks for the advice, Brooklyn. I have had the misfortune of dealing with this Mikey character on the Dodgers.com site and would prefer to not lower myself to his level.
That being said, another good day for young Ethier and the only question I can see is whether to bat Andre second or seventh.
