Sleep deprivation for no apparent reason

So I set the alarm for 2:20 this morning so I could go outside and hopefully see the space shuttle launch. I had the digital camera set on video and everything. I mean, I was ready. But the cloud cover was so low I couldnt see anything. The pad is about 70 miles away. I looked in that general direction, and I DID see, right about eye level, the sky light up in this orange glow. But the glow lasted for about 10 seconds, and after that, nothing. Oh, and I also heard a rumbling sound, but I'm not even sure that was it. I normally wouldn't get out of bed in the middle of the night for something like that, but I figured that was the last chance I would ever have to see such a thing, and I'm a little down about missing it. ... Nomar is taking BP in the cage today. No update on him yet.

Tony, if you run into Tommy Lasorda, our temp manager, can you tell him that pitch count _does_ in fact matter? If he does anything to mess up Kershaw, not to mention Kuo and company, we may have to appear in front of his place with pitchforks and torches.

Anyway... just a thought!

Tony- if you are down you can always just watch Kershaws curve on youtube!

I was at the Dodgers Fantasy Camp last month. On Thursday, they stopped the "big game" between the campers and the pros in Holman to watch the shuttle go up in broad daylight. It was awesome. You could see the jet trail first, then you could see the sun reflecting off the shuttle. An experience, like Dodger Camp, never to be forgotten!

Craig,

This article should ease your mind regarding Lasorda making decisions. See the fourth paragraph. Decisions are being made by Bowa and Schaefer, based on Torre's wishes.

Thanks, BD! The game today eased my mind, too - he or they did just fine with limiting the pitchers. I was a little worried Lowe was going to go another inning but it was all good. Maybe Tommy's merely decorative and inspirational. ;-)

Hey ebbetsfld I too wemnt to camp last month . I was at bat when that happen faceing Burt Hooten. My 15 minutes lasted 16 for that. A big moment for me.
PS
I grounded out.
