Adrian GonzalezFirst baseman Adrian Gonzalez was removed five innings in to the Dodgers’ game against the Angels with tightness in his lower back.

Gonzalez, 34, struck out in his final at-bat against Matt Shoemaker before he was replaced in the batting order by Justin Turner. Howie Kendrick shifted from third base to first and Turner took over at third for the final four innings.

Gonzalez is the only player who has appeared in all 39 games this season for the Dodgers.

Trayce Thompson‘s first career walk-off home run in the bottom of the ninth inning lifted the Dodgers to a 3-2 win over the New York Mets — and lifted the Dodgers over .500. The box score is here. You can listen to Vin Scully’s call of Thompson’s home run here.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — Justin Turner is the Dodgers’ designated hitter today, the finale of a two-game mini-series against the Tampa Bay Rays, and Dave Roberts has a couple more possible DHs lined up for the Dodgers’ three-game series in Toronto this weekend.

“The DH, also some off-days, and also the depth — we’ve used a lot of players, given them at-bats and spread them out — the bodies feel good,” Roberts said. “The DH is really nice. Kiké yesterday. JT as a DH today. (Adrian Gonzalez) will DH most likely the last day. Most likely Howie (Kendrick) will DH in Toronto.”
