Andre Ethier will begin rehab tonight in Rancho Cucamonga.

Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier will begin a minor league rehab assignment with Single-A Rancho Cucamonga tonight. He’ll face Padres pitcher Tyson Ross, who is on a rehab assignment with Lake Elsinore.

Ethier has not played this season while recovering from a fractured right tibia.

The Quakes host the Storm in the 7 pm game at LoanMart Field.

Andre Ethier’s rehab assignment could be soon; outfielder expected back in September.

The Dodgers expect Andre Ethier to return from his fractured right tibia “sometime in September,” manager Dave Roberts said, and the outfielder could be headed out on a minor league rehab assignment soon.

Roberts stopped short of saying that Ethier’s leg is 100 percent healed, but the manager said “it’s improved.”

Game 101: Chris Archer falls, but might have left the Dodgers wanting more.

Clayton Kershaw and Andre Ethier haven’t given up on playing this season, and Major League Baseball told Yasiel Puig not to wear his Vin Scully cleats or else face a $5,000 fine.

Kiké Hernandez, playing his final rehab game for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga tonight, played nine innings in center field and finished 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored.

Hernandez is on the 15-day disabled list with inflammation in his left rib cage. He’ll continue his rehab assignment at Double-A Tulsa.

Andre Ethier‘s fractured right tibia hasn’t completely healed, and the veteran outfielder has no timetable to begin a minor league rehab assignment. Clayton Kershaw might return as early as Thursday against the Washington Nationals.
