The Dodgers have invited 60 minor league prospects to their annual Fall Instructional League, which begins next week at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona.

Lakewood’s Brendon Davis calls being drafted by Dodgers ‘a dream come true.’

Colleague J.J. Fiddler talked to Brendon Davis, the Lakewood High School infielder whom the Dodgers selected in the fifth round of the amateur draft earlier today. Davis has committed to Cal State Fullerton but sounded willing to break the commitment to sign with the Dodgers:

If Davis and [advisor Lenny] Strelitz get the offer they expect, Davis could be wearing his hometown colors by the end of the week.

 

“It’s a tough decision,” Davis said. “I was never worried about what round I was selected in, it was all about what the Dodgers wanted to do. Cal State Fullerton is a great school and they’re headed to the NCAA College World Series again, but its a dream come true to be taken by my hometown team.”
