Dodgers sign 2015 draft picks Josh Sborz, Philip Pfeifer.

The Dodgers announced they’ve signed two of their top five picks from the June draft, pitcher Josh Sborz from the University of Virginia (Compensation Round 2B) and left-handed pitcher Philip Pfeifer from Vanderbilt University (3rd round).

Both were tied up after the draft because they participated in the College World Series. Sborz was named the MVP after leading Virginia to the national title.

Both of the Dodgers’ first two picks, college pitchers Walker Buehler (24th overall) and Kyle Funkhouser (35th) remain unsigned. Buehler, from Vanderbilt, also pitched in the College World Series.

The Dodgers also announced the signing of non-drafted free agent Brian Bass, a right-handed pitcher from Faulkner University (Alabama).

Overall, the Dodgers have signed 32 of their 42 draft picks.
