Dodgers announce the signing of 10 more draft picks.

The Dodgers formally announced the signing of ten more draft picks, including first-rounder Gavin Lux, who agreed to terms yesterday.

The other signings include Santa Clara University pitcher Mitchell White (second round), Western Nevada Community College outfielder DJ Peters (fourth round), Lake Erie College outfielder Luke Raley (seventh round), St. Mary’s College pitcher Anthony Gonsolin (ninth round), Hillsborough Community College outfielder Brayan Morales (15th round), Virginia Tech outfielder Saige Jenco (24th round), Texas Tech pitcher Chandler Eden (25th round), Brown University pitcher Austin French (27th round) and Ferrum College pitcher Jacob Perkins (28th round).

Officially, the Dodgers have announced contracts with seven of their first 11 draft picks. Their third-round pick, high school pitcher Dustin May, and their fifth-round pick, college pitcher Devin Smeltzer, are thought to have contract agreements in place as well. Only the 32nd and 36th overall picks, Louisville catcher Will Smith and Vanderbilt pitcher Jordan Sheffield, remain without contract agreements among the Dodgers’ first 11 draft picks.

It’s worth noting that White, the 65th overall pick, received $590,800 — the exact slot bonus recommended for the 101st pick, which the Dodgers also owned and used on May. But the Dodgers reportedly agreed to give May $1 million, well above the recommendation.

Also worth noting:

The Dodgers have officially signed 18 of their 42 draft picks total.

Dodgers announce the signing of eight draft picks.

The Dodgers announce the signing of eight picks from last week’s draft, only — of which had not been reported or revealed elsewhere.

The eight picks are: Ole Miss shortstop Errol Robinson (sixth round), High Point University pitcher Andre Scrubb (8th), UNLV pitcher Dean Kremer (14th), University of Memphis Outfielder Darien Tubbs (16th), Seattle University third baseman Brock Carpenter (20th), USC pitcher Jeff Paschke (22nd), San Jacinto College second baseman Brandon Montgomery (26th) and Santa Clara University catcher Stevie Berman (31st).

Signing bonuses were not announced.

Earlier Thursday, the Dodgers came to terms with first-round pick Gavin Lux.

Dodgers use 20th overall pick on shortstop Gavin Lux.

The Dodgers selected Wisconsin high school shortstop Gavin Lux with the 20th overall pick in the draft Thursday. Lux, 18, is committed to Arizona State University and was recently named the Gatorade State player of the year for the state of Wisconsin.

Baseball America called Lux “a slick-fielding, quick-twitch shortstop with a chance to develop into a true five-tool player.” MLB.com notes that Lux “should be able to remain at shortstop. His arm strength and speed are at least solid — some evaluators grade them as pluses — and he has reliable hands.”

“He is a pure shortstop that can run, hit, and hit with power from the left side,” Dodgers amateur scouting director Billy Gasparino said in a statement released by the team.

Trey Magnuson was the Dodgers’ area scout who identified Lux.

The Kenosha (WI) News reported that Lux is the first Wisconsin High School player selected in the first round of the draft since 1979. Lux told the publication he’s been through “psychological tests, personality tests, eye tests.”

See if he passes the eye test for yourself. Baseball America uploaded this video of Lux at the plate:
