After paying tribute to Vin Scully early, the Dodgers walked off the Colorado Rockies on a Charlie Culberson home run in the 10th inning, clinching their fourth straight National League West title. The box score is here.

The world, and the tiny slice of it occupied by professional baseball, awoke Sunday to the news Miami Marlins pitcher had been killed in a boating accident. The 24-year-old right-hander was scheduled to pitch Sunday. Instead, the Marlins’ game against the Atlanta Braves was cancelled while family, friends, teammates and others in the baseball world mourned.
