Dodgers recall Yimi Garcia, activate Zack Greinke from paternity list.

NEW YORK — The Dodgers recalled Yimi Garcia from Triple-A Oklahoma City for Sunday’s series finale against the Mets and activated starting pitcher Zack Greinke from the paternity list.

The corresponding moves were announced last night, when pitchers Chin-Hui Tsao and Josh Ravin were optioned to Triple-A.

That means Zach Lee, who started and lost the Dodgers’ 15-2 loss Saturday, remains on the roster as the Dodgers’ “fifth starter.” The Dodgers won’t need a fifth starter until next Sunday.

Garcia had one really bad outing — five batters faced, no outs — immediately after he was demoted to Oklahoma City earlier this month. In his next three outings, each lasting one inning, Garcia did not allow a run. He last pitched Thursday.

In 40 games with the Dodgers this season, Garcia has a 4.10 earned-run average and one save. He’s struck out 53 batters and walked nine in 37 ⅔ innings.

NEW YORK — Zack Greinke was placed on the paternity list by the Dodgers as expected Friday, one day after the pitcher flew to Los Angeles for the birth of his first child.

Emily Greinke delivered a boy, Bode Nicholas Greinke, on Thursday night.

Greinke can stay on the paternity list for up to three days. It’s still possible that he would be able to fly back in time to start Saturday against the Mets at Citi Field. Officially Saturday’s starter is listed as “TBA.” Zach Lee is scheduled to pitch for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday and is the favorite to start if Greinke can’t.

Greinke, who hasn’t allowed a run in his last 43 ⅔ innings, could also start Sunday. If not, Brett Anderson will attempt to pitch five days after he injured his ankle in Washington D.C.

In the meantime, right-handed reliever Josh Ravin has been recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City for the third time this season. He’s 2-1 with a 6.43 earned-run average in seven innings pitched out of the Dodgers’ bullpen.
