The Dodgers believe Yimi Garcia’s 2016 season is over.

When Rob Segedin had a locker in Dodger Stadium on Sunday, Yimi Garcia did not for the first time all year.

Garcia hasn’t pitched for the Dodgers since developing soreness in his right biceps on April 22 in Colorado. He made six minor league rehab appearances in July, none since he experienced a setback on July 29.

Sunday, manager Dave Roberts said the setback is expected to cost Garcia the rest of the season.

Howie Kendrick (groin) scratched from Dodgers’ 8-5 loss to Cleveland Indians.

GLENDALE, Ariz. — Howie Kendrick was slated to play third base for the first time today against the Cleveland Indians but was a late scratch due to a groin injury.

Non-roster invitee Rob Segedin played third base instead. The Dodgers (3-1-1) lost 8-5, ruining their chance at an undefeated Cactus League season. The box score is here.

Dodgers acquire minor league infielder Rob Segedin from New York Yankees.

The Dodgers acquired minor league infielder/outfielder Rob Segedin, and a player to be named later or cash, from the New York Yankees in exchange for infielder Ronald Torreyes and pitcher Tyler Olson on Tuesday.

Segedin, 27, had a .350 on-base percentage in 46 games last season for the Yankees’ Triple-A affiliate.

The Dodgers recently designated Torreyes and Olson for assignment, so the trade doesn’t affect their 40-man roster.
