John Valentin, the Dodgers’ assistant hitting coach the last two seasons under Mark McGwire, will be the hitting coach at Single-A Great Lakes in 2016.
The Dodgers announced most of their minor league coaching staffs Thursday; their minor league managers were announced in December. Farm director Gabe Kapler made a point of appointing at least one Spanish-speaking coach at every level last year and it appears that will continue, though the team’s two short season Rookie-ball affiliates have only announced partial staffs so far.
