SAN DIEGO — Scott Van Slyke‘s long-stalled recovery from a back injury finally has an ending in sight.
The first baseman/outfielder is flying to Los Angeles today after a brief stint at the Dodgers’ extended spring training facility in Glendale, Ariz. He’ll then report to Single-A Rancho Cucamonga for the Quakes’ game in Visalia, California.
Van Slyke has played in four games this season and missed 37 since injuring his back in San Francisco April 9. He’s expected to need at least a week’s worth of rehab games before he returns to the Dodgers.
